About ConvertFile

ConvertFile is a free file converter that runs entirely in your browser. When you convert an image on ConvertFile, the file never leaves your device. There are no uploads, no server processing, and no third-party access to your data.

We built ConvertFile because most online converters require you to upload your files to a remote server. That means trusting someone else with your images, waiting for uploads to complete, and hoping they actually delete your data afterward. We eliminated all of that.

ConvertFile uses the HTML5 Canvas API, a technology built into every modern browser. When you drop a file into the converter, your browser reads the image, re-encodes it in the target format, and offers the result as a download. The entire process takes under 2 seconds on most devices.

Because everything runs locally, ConvertFile works even if you disconnect from the internet after loading the page. There is no server to go down, no queue to wait in, and no file size limits imposed by upload bandwidth.
